Hi! My name is Annika Martensson and I am a coaching intern with MKSC this summer.
I have played soccer in the Milwaukee community throughout my entire life. The work that MKSC does in player development and community involvement is unprecedented. I am so excited to be a part of their team this summer! I have always loved the game of soccer because of the memories and friendships made on and off the field of play. I am excited to learn from some of the best coaches in the Milwaukee area this summer.
Sports have always been a huge part of my life. When I was growing up, I was always in season for one sport or another. Sports are still a huge part of my life today. I am a member of the women’s soccer team at Carleton College in Minnesota, pursuing a degree in Psychology with a Spanish minor. This summer, I will also be playing on Milwaukee’s semi-professional women’s soccer team, the Milwaukee Torrent. Outside of soccer, I love spending time outside and cooking.
Participating in team sports has helped me develop as an athlete but more importantly, as a person. I have learned so many valuable life lessons, met life-long friends and made lasting memories through the game of soccer. I really believe in the power of sports to be a difference-maker for kids and communities, and am excited to be a part of the team at MKSC where the focus is on both development as a player and as a person.
