Artie Lopez - MKSC Intern, Soccer Player & Photographer

by Artie Lopez | Apr 03, 2018

Hey there! I’m Arturo (Artie) Lopez, and I’m the new marketing and special events intern this spring. One of the main reasons I wanted to join MKSC is that I believe in what this outstanding organization is doing in the community by giving everyone, no matter their background, the chance to play soccer. I’ve always believed that the beautiful game is the people's game and that it has the ability to bring people together, so it only makes sense that I join an organization with a mission and vision that align with mine.

Since I was young soccer has always been a major part of my life, my first soccer coach was my father. That is why now that I’m grown up I want sports to remain prevalent in my life when I graduate from Concordia University.  My love for the game goes beyond just strapping on my boots and stepping onto the pitch. From the fan experience to the coordination and planning that goes into sport events, my love for this game and every aspect of it runs deep. Sports has given me so much and has taught me valuable life lessons that I always carry with me. The power of sport and the impact it can have in someone’s life never ceases to amaze me, and I want to be able to have that same impact on someone’s life through sport.

When I’m not kicking around a soccer ball with my friends I like to remain active by going on hikes or traveling. When I’m outdoors getting my hands a little dirty, I get to enjoy another one of my favorite hobbies which is photography. I really enjoy capturing some of life’s greatest moments and being able to look back on the memories that were made.

Commitment and a hard-work ethic are some personal traits that I display in both school and in work. These traits have helped me get to where I am today, and I know that being a part of this organization will only further develop my skills. I’m proud to be on this team I can’t wait to see what the spring with MKSC has to offer.
