Over the past couple of months, I had the opportunity to work as an intern with the Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club. I was blessed to be able to work alongside the MKSC team and fortunate because it's not everyday, as a student-athlete, that you find an internship that will work with your schedule.
During my internship, I was able to complete office hours and work tournament/event days at MKSC's home Uihlein Soccer Park. My office duties were diverse and ever-changing. I enjoyed experiencing different tasks every time I went to work, and learning more about sponsorships and what it takes to secure partnerships. Event days at the soccer park were always exciting and busy. My favorite activity was taking pictures of players, coaches, refs and fans during soccer tournaments to help celebrate the club’s upcoming 50th anniversary.
Working with the MKSC team enabled me to step out of my comfort zone and do many tasks that I never saw myself doing. Because of this, I was able to develop new knowledge and sharpen skills I already possessed. The MKSC team provided guidance and advice that I am thankful for and will apply in my future positions.
