Karlie Allen - My MKSC Internship Experience

by Karlie Allen | Jul 21, 2017

The past two months at Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club have absolutely flown by and it’s hard to believe that this experience is coming to an end. I can truly say that this internship did not disappoint and it gave me many opportunities that most people don’t get.

I feel lucky to have been a part of the MKSC team because I got to work with so many great people and got to do something different every week. Whether I was helping out at special events, like Kicknic or the WIAA Girls State Soccer Tournament, researching the history of the club for the upcoming 50th anniversary, or interacting with the kids in MKSC's community outreach program, America SCORES Milwaukee, I was always learning. Every experience that I had through this internship has benefited me greatly and I know I will use the skills I’ve gained in the future.

My favorite part of this experience was supporting America SCORES Milwaukee. Community outreach is something I’ve always loved, so getting the opportunity to see first-hand the impact the program makes on the kids was really awesome.

I cannot thank everyone at Kickers enough for this opportunity and for welcoming me as part of the team from day one. As a former MKSC player, it was special to return seven years later to see how the club operates from an internal standpoint. This experience will undoubtedly serve me well in the years to come!
