Hi! My name is Karlie Allen and I’m one of the summer interns at MKSC. My older brother, Henry, was an intern here last summer and he can’t say enough great things about his experience so I’m incredibly excited for the next eight weeks.
Growing up with three brothers, sports have always been a big part of my life. I grew up playing as a Milwaukee Kicker and remain friends with some of the girls I played with. In high school I played varsity lacrosse and field hockey, and during my senior year I was an assistant coach for a youth girls lacrosse team. I loved getting to know the girls, and to see their love and passion for the game grow with each practice.
This fall I will be a sophomore at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, majoring in strategic communications. With this major Miami requires a double major, and I am deciding between journalism and English. I would love to work at a major PR firm after I graduate. At Miami I'm also a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority which focuses a lot on philanthropy, so I’m really excited for the community outreach portion of this internship.
I’m looking forward to returning to Uihlein Soccer Park, to the place that ignited my love for sports, and being able to work with such a great team of people. I already know that I’m going to gain so many skills within the next two months and I can't wait to see what the summer brings.
