Over the past 10 weeks, I participated in the internship program at the Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club.
By working part-time in the office at Uihlein Soccer Park, I have come to know what it is like to work under the Club’s mission statement. I had the opportunity to write blogs, sit in on some sponsorship meetings, and work event days at Uihlein Soccer Park. Those combined experiences allowed me to see how the club operates on a daily basis, which has given me an appreciation for all the hard work that goes into making the club run as smoothly as it does.
When applying for the position, I wasn’t really quite sure what to expect. I was excited at the idea of possibly working in a soccer environment, as I was going to be participating in my senior year of college soccer at the time. Ultimately, my time here proved to be everything I expected and much more.
Working with the MKSC staff was a very rewarding experience. There are many special individuals working for the soccer club and it was a pleasure getting to know the different members of the team. It was also very exciting participating in the different events that were hosted at Uihlein Soccer Park. The highlight of those events was getting the chance to work alongside Abby Wambach’s tour team, and getting the chance to meet her!
Overall, my MKSC experiences are ones that I will not soon forget. Not only has this internship allowed me to continue my involvement in the Wisconsin club soccer scene, it has also provided me with invaluable real-world experience.
I can’t thank the Milwaukee Kickers organization enough for giving me the opportunity. I hope to one day give back, and help contribute to all the great things the club does for its members and the community.
