FAQs

  • What are Kickers' Regions?

The Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club is made up of regions located throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Each region functions to meet the needs of its community and members.

All Kickers' regions offer recreational youth soccer teams and most offer Select (tryout based) teams. All players who participate in a Kickers' region are part of the Milwaukee Kickers organization. The Kickers, as one entity made up of all regions, also offers a premier level Select team - MKSC Academy.

  • What is my "U"? *New Age Requirements for 16/17*

"U" is short for "My soccer age is Under 8 years old". This age is determined by your child's birth date. Players can not be over the listed age. Soccer ages are determined once per year and remain the same for the entire year.

    New Age Requirements Guide

New age requirements have been mandated by the United States Soccer Federation for the 2016-2017 season. All of U.S. Soccer’s membership is required to put these initiatives into place no later than August of 2017. This includes, but is not limited to, all youth members and their respective competitions: State Associations, US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer, AYSO, SAY, etc. At the November 2015 Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association State Board Meeting, the Board took action to approve the implementation of the Birth Year Registration mandates included in US Soccer’s new Player Development Initiatives effective August 1, 2016 for all Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association players and programs. This means MKsc will have to follow all the mandated regulations at our June tryouts for the Fall 2016 season.

Beginning May 1st players will register according to the year they were born. Players will no longer be age appropriate based on a birth date between August 1 and July 31 and/or their grade in school. Instead, players will register and be age eligible according to their birth year (2009, 2010, 2011, etc).

However, Milwaukee Kickers is its own district within the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association, running our own recreational leagues. Because of this we are able to form our recreational teams by grade level. This will keep recreational players with their current team.

When regions create the recreational teams they will be created by grade level. The new birth year requirements must be adhered to when playing competitive (select) soccer or youth academy - there is no compromise at those levels.

Please know that we as an organization are doing everything in our power to keep the recreational teams together, as they are today, based upon grade level.
