Why do we do Festival?
- Prepares parents and players for Select level soccer
- Strengthen our position among other competitive clubs
- Offer an extended soccer season for committed players
- Allow regions to interact with each other
- Provide a fun but competitive playing experience
Value for Players
- Provides an opportunity for players of similar skill to interact
- Form new relationships in anticipation of joining select teams
- Expose players to select level coaches
- Enhance individual skill development through competitive training and games
- Prepare players for the upcoming outdoor season with their regional teams
Festival Training and Games
- U10 practices will be held on Monday's from August 2-16
- U10 games will be held on Wednesday's from August 4-18
- U9 practices will be held on Tuesday's from August 3-17
- U9 games will be held on Thursday's from August 5-19
- Practice and game locations will be established by region
- A summer playoff will take place at Uihlein Soccer Park on 8/21 from 9a-2p. (Two game guarantee)
Player and Coach Selection
- Regional Director of Coaching or Director will solicit nominations of 16-32 boy and girl players from team coaches.
- Cost for festival participation is $35/per player
- Coaches will be nominated by the Regional Director of Coaching or Director
- The coach to player ratio is 1/16
- A clinic will be held for both U9 and U10 Festival Coaches at Uihlein Soccer Park on July 28 from 6-8p
2010 Important Dates
- 4/30-5/26 - Player scouting
- 6/27 - Nomination letter and information sent to parents
- 6/30 - Registration Deadline
- 7/13 - Training schedules, fields, teams, coaches are all finalized
- 7/28 - Festival coaching clinic
- 8/2-8/9 - Festival summer season begins
- 8/21 - Festival Summer Playoff @ Uihlein
- 9/1 - Request for parent feedback sent
- 9/12 - Feedback and recommendations sent to MKsc staff
