Enjoy Your Youth Athletic Experience

Sports should be fun! No matter what level of athletics you play, if you aren’t enjoying your practice or games you are missing out on the most important aspect.

It’s key for you, as an athlete, to realize how important it is to love what you are doing and to enjoy your sport every day. Sports are designed to teach you fundamental rules and the importance of teamwork before you begin to compete at the next level.

Here are a few ways to enjoy your athletic experience:

- If you need a break, take a break; it is important to realize when athletics may be too much

- Take time to compliment yourself on achieving goals and accomplishing things you are proud of

- Hang out with your teammates and get to know each other off the soccer field

- Be positive, if someone is having a bad game or practice help bring them up. Positive energy is contagious.

If you go into practice or competition excited for what's to come, everything else comes naturally. In the end, winning is nothing if you aren’t having fun.
